Top 8 SEO Blogs

Our experts came across these previously published articles we thought you would find useful.

These are re-posts from the original sources. Author: steamfeed

You've probably read that there are more than 200 elements to Google's search algorithm. On top of that, Matt Cutts reports that Google makes minor changes to search about twice a day. Add in Pandas, Penguins, and Hummingbirds (do I hear an "oh my!")  and it is easy to see why keeping up with the ever evolving world of search engine optimization can be challenge.

Whether you are a business owner, a marketer, or spend your days immersed in SEO; the rapid changes, conflicting reports, and difference of opinions, even among the "experts", can leave you feeling confused, overwhelmed, and indecisive.

Following are the eight SEO blogs that I found the most valuable in trying to keep up with  changes in the SEO world last year.

Top 8 SEO Blogs

searchengineland

1. Search Engine Land: More often then not this past year, when I went looking for SEO information, I ended up on Search Engine Land. They have very knowledgeable and experienced writers, are always current, and blanket all aspects of the industry.

2. Moz: Formerly SEO Moz, Moz tends to focus on more advanced SEO issues and solutions, case studies, and industry news. Highlights are the weekly Whiteboard Friday with Rand Fishkin, and the content contributed by the  YouMoz community.

Matt Cutts

3. Matt Cutts: Matt has become the face and spokesperson for Google Search. Although Google shares only what it wants and when its ready, Matt does shine the light on some best practices and updates, and works to dispel or clear up SEO misconceptions.

4. Understanding Google Places and Local Search: Mike Blumenthal is still the go-to resource for all things local. With the increasing emphasis on local search – its important to keep up on the changes and best practices for your industry.

backlinko

5. Backlinko: I'm fairly new to Brian Dean's blog Backlinko, but it didn't take long to become a raving fan! As you can probably tell from the name of the blog, his focus is on the challenging and hugely important topic of developing backlinks.

He publishes infrequently, but when he does, it's definitely worth checking out – his advice is unique and actionable!

6. Search Engine Round Table: Barry Schwartz, the author of the Search Engine Round Table blog covers breaking news in the Search Engine Industry. Subscribe to his newsletter for a daily update on the what's happening in the search world.

7. Search Engine Watch: Like Moz, much of the Search Engine Watch content is more advanced and addresses specific situations, but they also do a good job of covering Search Engine news.

8. Stone Temple Consulting: Stone Temple Consulting offers insightful SEO commentary and actionable SEO advice. They recently  published two important studies on the influence of Google+ and Facebook on search rankings.

I thought I would use one of the big Email companies. They did not meet my needs. I was too small to be noticed.
