Agriculture professionals are most likely to take action against online ads shown to them on Tuesday – the day they were least likely to take action is Sunday. However they are most likely to click on an ad shown to them on Wednesday.

Software professionals are most likely to take action against online ads shown to them on Tuesday; Sunday, again, is the day they were least likely to take action. The day to expect a response from medical professionals from an online ad is Thursday.

Real estate professionals are most likely to react to online ads shown to them on Saturday; Wednesday is the day they are least likely to take action.

Small business professionals are most likely to take action against online ads shown to them on Sunday; Saturday is the day they are least likely to take action.

So says Bizo, which examined data across its network to determine how the day of the week an online ad is served impacts when someone reacts to it. It found that, in general, professionals are most likely to react to an online ad shown during the week, particularly on Wednesday – while they are most likely to click on an ad during the weekend. However, a professional’s industry is an even better indicator of when he or she is most likely to take action. It incorporated these findings in a guide titled “An Advertiser’s Weekly Planner”.

Smartphone Ownership Climbs 15%

The number of US smartphone owners rose 15% between the three months ending in June 2010 and the three months ending in September 2010, according to comScore MobiLens data. RIM was the leading mobile smartphone platform in the US with a 37.3% share of smartphone subscribers, followed by Apple with 24.3% share. Google captured 21.4% of smartphone subscribers for third place. Microsoft accounted for 10% of smartphone subscribers, taking fourth place, while Palm rounded out the top five with 4.2%.
